Mission kick this cold in the ass: Success

It’s amazing what a few days of rest can do!  I’m feeling so much better.   I started to really feel like crap when I went to bed last Sunday night and was running a fever.   By the time I woke up Thursday morning, I was almost back to normal. I stayed in bed all day Monday.  Tuesday I was feeling better but still had a low grade fever.   I was miserable tired at work on Wednesday. Then like a switch was flipped I felt a million times better on Thursday.

So, Mission accomplished in 4 days. Oh yeah, I like that.  I’m still trying to clean out some phlegm (mmm, yum.) but other than that I’m good to go.  Friday, I went back into the gym to do some easy cardio and felt pretty good.  My lungs were burning a bit but hey, I just had a cold.   I went in late Saturday morning and did my lifting routine.  I dropped my weight on all my lifts by about 10% from where I left off before I got sick.  So glad I did because it was tough.  I’m back in the gym today to lift so I’m hoping I’ll feel 100%. Those squats are getting tough.  Think I need to do a blog post on the program I’m doing. (note to self.)

Having the ability to get over a cold so quickly makes all of my hard work worth it.  If I was still over 200lbs, unhealthy, sitting on the couch instead of working out, I would still be sick, feeling like crap for 2 weeks.  I realize there are so many benefits to taking care of my body.  It feels great to recognize that.  *smiles*

  1. Being sick certainly puts a damper on the dieting and fitness plan, but this journey is a day at a time. When you are better, you will start the next day with 100% effort. Keep being honest and keep inspiring others with your commitment !!! You are kicking it girl!
    • Thank you! I love your enthusiasm!
